Elaine Rau is the founder of LadyBossBlogger.com. She is on a mission to change media’s landscape on how women are portrayed. Elaine Rau is filling the media with stories about powerful every day women in order to change women’s mindsets about themselves. The media plays a powerful part in how we see ourselves, what we think we can achieve, and what limitations we put on ourselves. The more women are properly portrayed, the more women will rise up in leadership and push past their self-limiting beliefs. Her platform, LadyBossBlogger.com, serves this purpose and is also affiliated with the charity, The Micah Project, a home for street boys in Honduras. Every blog post directly supports them.

The Female Entrepreneur Association is an online hub with the mission of inspiring and empowering women from around the world to turn their ideas into a reality, build successful businesses and live a life they love. We believe that every single one of us has the ability to achieve incredible things and life is too short to waste the opportunity to make it happen. However, sometimes the entrepreneurial journey can be challenging.

Origami Globe – We’re self-confessed competition geeks.

… and we’re not ashamed to admit it. Seriously, when the NSW government announced they were considering changing the licensing laws we partied like it was nineteen ninety-nine. We make it our business to know everything and anything about the world of competitions and giveaways so you can save your brain space for running your business. This isn’t your average about page so we’re not going to use cliché buzzwords and waffle on about crap you don’t care about. The bottom line is; when it comes to competitions, we know our stuff. In previous lives we created all manner of exciting prize packages, worked on national promos and managed lovely winners for the likes of AAMI, Woolworths, Disney, Pepsi and Doritos… but we knew there was more. More companies we could help and more meaningful ROI we could squeeze out of competitions. So our Chief Competition Nerd Suki packed up her desk, said goodbye to her clients, took her sad-looking cactus home and started OrigamiGlobe.

Carrotsticks & Cravings – Healthy food made with love

Carrotsticks and Cravings is a healthy food haven – cafe, cooking school and food blog where you’ll find deliciously nutritious food made with nothing less than love. It’s run by me, Terri-Anne, a Melbourne expat living in Singapore, and a happily married wife and mum of 5-year-old twins, Eli and Olivia, and a 3-year-old daughter Hallie. My food philosophy is all about keeping things in moderation – I’m really good 80% of the time and a little indulgent 20% of the time. I’m all about super foods and creating healthy recipes during the week but when the weekend hits, nothing makes me happier than hosting dinner parties and creating decadent dishes to plate up to family and friends.

Courtney Foster-Donahue – I have this radical idea…

Or at least, radical compared to most of the noise I see on the Internet right now. I don’t think you need more balance. I don’t think you need more drive. I don’t think you need more hustle. Sure, there are plenty of folks out there who need more get-up-and-go, but if you’re reading this, I doubt you’re one of them. Steph Taylor  – I empower small business owners with the marketing know-how they need to create the business of their dreams.

When I started my first business (a side-hustle) I was overwhelmed at how much stuff there was to do. No matter how hard I worked, there was always another so-called expert waiting to tell me what I SHOULD be doing. It was overwhelming, exhausting and stressful. The biggest lesson I’ve learnt? You don’t need to do everything. You want to learn how to market your business smarter, not harder? You’re in the right place. I cut through the crap and teach you what you need to know about marketing your business – minus the fluff.

Betty Means Business – Business Coach, Consultant and Blogger.

I believe in possibility. In being yourself. In roller derby. In Japanese food. In life lessons. In 80s movies involving dancing and/or prom nights. In Chazz Michael Michaels quotes. In un-complicating success. And in being all in. And you should know up front: When it comes to business, I really (really!) believe in valuing your expertise and growing your worth.

YOUR SELF-WORTH.
YOUR NET-WORTH.

Way back in the day I started my business because I was looking for freedom. To do things my way. To set my own schedule. To have the flexible yeah-I’m-heading-to-yoga-in-the-middle-of-the-day lifestyle I wanted. To close out each day pulsing with gratitude and feeling like I’d made a difference. And to be in control of how much money I made.

But man did I screw things up when I first started. Back then I thought I had to act seriously to be taken seriously. I thought being in business meant being exhausted and in constant overwhelm. I thought I had to keep my prices low to be competitive and win clients. And I thought that to make more money I’d have to work even harder than I already was – but I was already working nights and weekends and I just couldn’t see how it was physically gonna happen. Somehow the real freedom I was after felt totally out of reach. And then… a major health challenge forced me to completely change the way I did business. After a whole lot of research, testing and experimenting (boy was that a journey!) I learned how to turn it all around.

I’m not perfect by any stretch, but these days I experience my business in an entirely different way. My biz and my lifestyle complement each other. My business supports and sustains me instead of sucks me dry. These days, even though I’m seriously into my work, I honour the profane, smart ass-y, crystal-totting parts of me too.

AND I’M RIGHTEOUSLY COMMITTED TO THIS TRUTH: You can be too!

Be Your Own Lady Boss

I wanted to personally thank each of you for sharing your stories with me, and letting me know why you want to become a #LADYBOSS and start living your dreams. I was very touched by the intimate messages that I received from many of you.

So, in kind, I thought you might like to know a little more about me.

My name, as I’m sure most of you know, is Maggie. I’m an author, a full-time writer and I’m living the dream as a self-employed, digital nomad and #LADYBOSS. I run a boutique content writing/marketing agency, which started as a result of my freelancing and has grown to such as size that I have know built a team of clever helpers to work with me.

Most of you would have joined this journey after seeing my post in the LMBDW group on Facebook, where I was patting myself on the back for my recent HUGE month. After I received an enormous response in messages and comments, asking for advice, I decided to build a FREE course, to share the love and help out some other women (and men…and everyone in between!) to reach their goals.

I wanted to start something that was personal, and offered real-world advice and workable solutions to the problems that many of you have been facing. I’m not some millionaire, sitting on a beach (although I do get to sit on a lot of beaches, thanks to my success) who you’ll never personally interact with, but will fill your head with all sorts of unrealistic expectations. I’m just one average, Aussie woman, who decided that it was time for me to make my dreams a reality. I wanted to share that with people, and be a real, HUMAN example of how you can make it happen!

And so, the Be Your Own #LADYBOSS course was born. Well, almost! It’s still in the works, but don’t worry – it will be with you soon. And as one of the first subscribers, you’ll have the opportunity to take the course for FREE. Numbers are limited and there are only a handful of spots left. If you know someone who needs this course in their lives, make sure you let them know about it before it’s too late!
